The Illinois Department of Human
Services funds 38 Health
Centers that provide:
- Routine medical exams
- Physical exams for school or sports
- Treatment
of acute illness
- Immunizations
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) testing and
treatment
- Gynecological exams
- Pregnancy testing
- Mental Health Services/Referral
All students must have parental permission to receive services
unless otherwise allowed by law and each local community decides
which services will be provided directly or through referrals.
Centers are monitored by DHS to ensure continued compliance with
Illinois Standards for School Health Services.
